The Diocese offers parishes the opportunity to apply for Social Justice Grants to help fund efforts to address social needs in their areas. These grants have been particularly valuable this year during the pandemic in addressing the food and assistance shortages in parishes.
Gifts to the Appeal also support Parish Faith Formation grants, many of which helped parishes offer virtual religious education programs during the past year.

Pat Ransel and her husband Chris started a parish nursing ministry three years ago to support parishioners and the community with healthcare needs. They recruited and trained parishioners for their team to provide healthcare information, conduct health fairs, and now run a psychiatric drop-in center.
About the drop-in center Pat said, “These are folks with nowhere else to go. Without us they sit in their home and they’re isolated and more depressed.”
